  6. With his third album, Too Legit to Quit, Hammer dropped the "MC" from his name, but didn't undergo any major changes musically. Indeed, Legit provided a heavy dose of the thing that made Please Hammer, Don't Hurt Em so successful: likeable, fun pop-rap that appealed to mainstream Top 40 audiences more than the hood.6/

  7. The other ones are not that great. Calling the CD a "Greatest Hits" compilation is a bit of an exaggeration, but then again MC Hammer hasn't really had that much of a long successful career. Still, the first two songs on the CD make this CD worth buying (if the price is kept low)/5(89).

  8. TOO LEGIT TO QUIT,released in October ,was the second meaghit for this artist,now simply known as Hammer. The success of PLEASE HAMMER DON'T HURT 'EM,released only 20 months earlier,prompted Hammer to record this album immediately. Aside from the title track,hits include the religiously themed DO NOT PASS ME BY and THIS IS THE WAY WE ROLL.
